IT'S OVER...Nighhawks end the Ragin' Bulls season 49 - 9

The Ragin' Bulls magical season came to an abrupt end Friday night at Northern Guildford High School.  The Hickory Ridge team accomplished many goals for 3rd year head coach Marty Paxton.  First team to finish with a winning season, first team to make the NC State playoffs, first team to win a playoff game.   There are so many good things for the program to build upon.

The team also saw tonight what the next level of high school football looks like.  The Ragin' Bulls took advantage of an early fumble deep in Nighthawk territory to take a 3 - 0 lead.  The lead did not last long as on the ensuing kickoff, Keenan Allen of NGHS, weaved his way through and out sprinted the coverage team to a quick 6 points.  NGHS also put up 2 more quick TD strikes both by Allen before the 1st quarter ended.  Going into the second period of play Hickory Ridge was down 21 - 3.

The final score:  49 - 9.

As the players walked out for pre-game warm ups there was a very nice exchange of applause between players and the fans who made the trip 2 hours north.  Several bus loads of students, parents and friends provided plenty of support for the team.

Check back soon for more stats and reports on the final game of the season.  Basketball and wrestling will take over front and center soon in this blog spot.

Come on out and support your Ragin' Bulls Athletics.
